Figure emblématique du mouvement disco des années 70, surtout reconnu pour ses productions Hi-NRG, ses remixes (dont le classique « I Feel Love » pour Donna Summer) et ses collaborations avec Sylvester, Patrick Cowley était également un grand chercheur du rythme aux influences variées.
Accompagné du chanteur de Indoor Life, Jorge Socarras, il enregistre entre les annees 1975-1979, ce « Catholic » mythique, oscillant entre disco psychedelique, proto-techno et post-punk, figure plus près des Eno, Devo et aures Newman que de Moroder auquel ont le colle généralement.
Un album album grandiose, atypique pour l’epoque mais oh combien pertinent.

Symbolic figure of the 70s disco movement, mostly reknowned for his HI-NRG productions, his remixes (his rendition of the Donna Summer « I Feel Love » track is still seminal to this day) and his collaborations with Sylvester, Patrick Cowley was also a great rhythm scientist of various influences.
Along with Indoor Life singer Jorge Socarras, he will record between 1975-1979 this mythical « Catholic » album, which oscillates between psychedelic disco, proto-techno and post-punk, which lands him closer to the likes of Eno, Devo and Newman than to Moroder, with whom he is usually paired.
A grand album, atypical and ahead of its time, contemporarily accurate beyond its years.
